Johnny Barr is a deliberate, quietly confident artist from a small town in Scotland called Johnstone. He began his music career and developed his musical sound through lived experience and established his career by starting out in Paisley.

Johnny Barr stands out for honest, relatable songwriting, a strong emotional alt-rock sound, a blend of Scottish folk with a Nashville overtone, and a clear focus on storytelling over noise.

Whilst previously being featured on BBC Introducing Scotland, Johnny has also supported The Staves, Lianne La Havas, Admiral Fallow and Mick Flannery. He has also performed on festival line-ups alongside Fleetwood Mac, The Black Keys and Hozier with Winter Springs, and since 2023 has seen his single Forgive & Forget featured on Amazing Radio (via Jim Gellatly) and the Scottish Alternative Music Awards playlist, with the release of Break the Fall EP gaining strong support across Scotland.
